Description

A 9 blade brake wear gauge suitable for use on HGVs to check the measurement of (or demonstrate) the thickness of the remaining brake pad material. The offset design allows for the blades to be inserted between the brake disc and the brake pad backing plate allowing the pad thickness can be measured without needing to be removed from the vehicle. Many OEM brake manufacturers for HGV’s recommend pad replacement at around 5mm. The 8258 has been designed to allow a definitive report on remaining pad thickness to be made so recommendation can be made to the vehicle owner.

  • Fits between the disc & brake pad backing plate.
  • 9 blades conveniently marked in both metric & imperial units. Range: 6 - 22mm (0.2362" - 0.8661").
  • Always consult manufacturers recommended measurements; many OEM brake manufacturers for HGV’s recommend pad replacement at around 5mm.
  • Designed to allow a definitive report on remaining pad thickness to be made so recommendation can be made to the vehicle owner.
